CW Bureau ·

Morepen Laboratories has completed the first phase of its manufacturing capacity expansion programme ahead of schedule, increasing its installed reactor capacity for active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) and contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) operations from 535 KL to 614 KL.

The capacity addition is expected to strengthen Morepen Laboratories’ manufacturing readiness as the company scales up commercial CDMO supplies, while also supporting its existing API business and future customer programmes.

Capacity expansion
The first phase of the expansion has added 79 KL of reactor capacity, taking the company’s total installed capacity to 614 KL. The expansion is aimed at creating additional manufacturing headroom as demand from API and CDMO businesses grows.

The increased capacity will enable the company to support ongoing commercial CDMO supplies and prepare for additional customer programmes.

Focus on scalable manufacturing
Morepen Laboratories said the capacity enhancement is an important milestone in its strategy to build a larger, scalable and globally compliant manufacturing platform.

The company is focusing on strengthening its manufacturing capabilities to support long-duration customer partnerships and sustained growth across its API and CDMO businesses.

The expansion also provides additional capacity to serve the existing API portfolio while creating room for future growth opportunities in contract manufacturing.

Supporting CDMO growth
The completion of the first phase comes as Morepen Laboratories continues to scale up its CDMO operations. The additional reactor capacity is expected to improve the company’s ability to respond to commercial supply requirements and support new customer programmes.

The company’s strategy is centred on building manufacturing capabilities that can support long-term partnerships with global customers while maintaining compliance with international manufacturing standards.
