Messe Muenchen India, a leading organiser of B2B trade fairs and part of the Messe München Group, has acquired the India International Cargo Show (IICS) from Upstream Business Solutions LLP.
As part of the next phase, Messe Muenchen India will work closely with Upstream Business Solutions to shape future editions of IICS. The acquisition brings the event into its established logistics trade-fair portfolio.
IICS strengthens logistics portfolio
The 2025 edition of IICS attracted more than 25,000 trade visitors from over 80 countries and featured more than 200 exhibiting brands across more than 15,000 square metres of exhibition space.
The Mumbai edition of India International Cargo Show 2026 will be held at the Jio World Convention Centre from December 2 to 4.
Platform covers cargo ecosystem
Over the past four years, IICS has developed into a focused business platform for freight forwarders, airlines, shipping lines, ports and terminals.
It also brings together warehousing and cold-chain operators, express logistics providers, cargo-handling companies and logistics technology businesses.
Events create connected ecosystem
Messe Muenchen India said IICS will complement its logistics portfolio, which includes transport logistic India and air cargo India.
The forthcoming project cargo India will further expand the portfolio, connecting businesses involved in cargo movement, handling, storage and management across air, sea, rail and road.
Trade growth drives logistics demand
The company said IICS is entering its next phase as India’s international trade expands and places greater demands on freight, cargo and supply-chain infrastructure.
According to Ministry of Commerce and Industry data released on April 15, India’s merchandise exports reached $441.78 billion in FY26, while imports stood at $774.98 billion.
Merchandise trade crosses $1.2 trillion
India’s combined merchandise trade reached approximately $1.22 trillion in FY26, highlighting the growing scale of cargo movement and supporting infrastructure.
Messe Muenchen India CEO President Bhupinder Singh said IICS has built strong relationships across India’s cargo and freight-forwarding industry.
Messe München expands global network
“Bringing it into our portfolio allows us to serve the market through a series of focused yet complementary platforms,” he said.
The expanded Indian portfolio will become part of Messe München’s international transport logistic network, which includes events in Munich, China, India, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Türkiye and the US.
India remains key logistics market
Messe München CEO Stefan Rummel said India is central to the future of global trade and logistics.
“India is central to the future of global trade and logistics, and this acquisition underscores our long-term commitment to the market,” he said.
