Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has strengthened the security of its Venue and Venue N Line with the introduction of the Hyundai Bluelink Remote Immobiliser, allowing owners to remotely prevent their parked vehicles from being restarted in the event of suspected theft.
The feature is available on connected-car-Navigation-Cockpit (ccNC)-equipped HX10 and N10 variants of the Venue Venue N Line, respectively. It will also be introduced in phases across select existing Bluelink-equipped models and future connected Hyundai vehicles.
Security against unauthorised restart
The Remote Immobiliser is designed to address the risk of unauthorised vehicle use, including in cases involving key cloning. Customers can activate the feature through the Hyundai Bluelink app while the vehicle is parked.
If the vehicle has already been parked with the feature activated, it cannot be restarted. In the event of suspected theft, owners can also activate the feature through the app even if it was not switched on earlier. Once activated, the vehicle cannot be restarted after it is switched off.
The feature does not stop or switch off a moving vehicle, a safeguard aimed at ensuring customer safety.
In addition, live location tracking, subject to network connectivity and other operating conditions, can help customers and law enforcement authorities locate the vehicle and potentially improve the chances of recovery.
OTA update eliminates workshop visit
A key aspect of the rollout is that Hyundai has introduced the new security capability remotely through a Controller Over-the-Air, or C-OTA, update, leveraging the Software-Defined Vehicle architecture of the Venue and Venue N Line.
Eligible variants sold since November 2025 can receive the update without requiring a visit to a workshop. The ccNC-equipped vehicles can receive C-OTA updates across up to 19 vehicle controllers, enabling Hyundai to remotely introduce new features, enhancements and software updates.
From September 2026, the Remote Immobiliser is being offered as a standard feature on ccNC-equipped Venue HX10 and Venue N Line N10 variants.
The development underlines how software-defined vehicle architecture is increasingly allowing automakers to add capabilities to vehicles already on the road, rather than limiting feature upgrades to new model launches or workshop visits.
Over eight lakh connected vehicles
Hyundai said Bluelink now powers more than eight lakh connected vehicles in India. The connected technology is available across 11 of the 15 models in HMIL’s product line-up and offers more than 70 connected features, including proactive alerts, SOS and emergency assistance, auto-crash notification, remote vehicle status and home-to-car connectivity.
Other features include Hyundai Pay, Digital Key, Digital Passport and ‘Find My Car’ through the side-view monitor. Bluelink-equipped models also offer up to 492 AI-powered voice commands and multilingual interface support in the digital cluster and infotainment system, depending on the model.

He said the feature also demonstrated the future-ready potential of Hyundai’s Software-Defined Vehicle architecture.
“Through a seamless Controller Over-the-Air update, we are introducing an important new capability to eligible model variants without requiring customers to visit a workshop,” Garg added.
The Remote Immobiliser is currently also available in the Hyundai IONIQ 5, apart from the ccNC-equipped Venue HX10 and Venue N Line N10 variants. Hyundai said its operation and live location tracking remain subject to factors including untampered wiring, uninterrupted vehicle power supply and network connectivity.
