Lenskart Solutions has acquired an additional 1.80% stake in Dimension NXG Pvt Ltd (Ajna), an associate company, for around ₹8 crore, strengthening its strategic exposure to smart eyewear, extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence-led technologies.
Following the latest acquisition, Lenskart’s shareholding in Ajna has increased from 4.84% to 9.01% of the company’s fully diluted share capital, representing an aggregate increase of 4.17% through three acquisitions this year.
Three stake acquisitions in 2026
Lenskart had earlier acquired an additional 0.68% stake on February 26, 2026, followed by another 1.69% stake on July 4, 2026. The latest 1.80% acquisition takes its total additional holding acquired during the year to 4.17%.
The latest transaction values the strategic relationship between Lenskart and Ajna as the eyewear industry increasingly moves towards connected and technology-enabled products.
Focus on smart eyewear technology
Ajna is engaged in the development of smart glasses software applications, with a focus on technologies associated with augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR).
Lenskart said the acquisition is aimed at strengthening its strategic association with the extended reality, artificial intelligence and smart wearable technology ecosystem and supporting technology-led opportunities in the smart eyewear segment.
The increased stake gives Lenskart greater exposure to technology capabilities that could potentially support the development of next-generation eyewear products and experiences.
Related-party transaction
Ajna is treated as an associate of Lenskart and is therefore a related party. The acquisition of the additional stake constitutes a related-party transaction and has been undertaken on an arm’s-length basis in compliance with applicable provisions of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
Peyush Bansal, promoter and Managing Director of Lenskart, is also a director on the board of Ajna.
Building technology-led eyewear capabilities
The latest investment comes as smart glasses and other wearable technologies emerge as an important area of convergence between consumer electronics, artificial intelligence and eyewear.
For Lenskart, increasing its holding in Ajna provides a deeper strategic association with the AR and MR technology ecosystem while potentially strengthening its ability to participate in the evolution of smart eyewear.
The move also signals Lenskart’s broader strategy of combining its traditional eyewear business with emerging technologies as smart glasses increasingly become part of the connected-wearable market.
