Orient Tradelink Buys Commercial Rights Of Children Of God For 7 Years

CW Bureau ·

Orient Tradelink Ltd has entered into definitive arrangements to acquire specified commercial rights in the Hindi feature film Children of God for a period of seven years.

The film is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on October 23. The acquisition marks the company’s entry into entertainment content and intellectual-property assets.

Rights cover multiple formats

The acquired rights provide opportunities across theatrical exhibition, overseas markets, television and satellite, dubbing and language adaptation.

The company will also explore publishing, merchandising and other permissible formats during the seven-year rights period.

Children of God is a socially relevant Hindi feature film based on a true story.

The film explores themes of identity, acceptance, dignity and resilience, tracing a human journey from rejection towards hope and belonging.

Film gains international visibility

The film has received attention through its international journey, including its reported presence at the Cannes Film Market 2026.

The company believes the international exposure will provide a platform ahead of the film’s theatrical release in India.

The seven-year rights period will allow Orient Tradelink to explore the property beyond its initial theatrical window.

The company sees potential to develop Children of God as a content asset with a longer commercial life across multiple formats.

₹1 crore earmarked for promotion

Orient Tradelink proposes to deploy approximately ₹1 crore towards publicity, marketing and promotional activities for the film.

The expenditure will be subject to applicable commercial arrangements and approvals.

The company also plans to explore opportunities to develop the film beyond its theatrical life cycle.

The underlying story is currently being developed into a book, creating an additional publishing opportunity.

Company eyes wider content portfolio

“Over the seven-year rights period, we intend to evaluate opportunities across theatrical, television, international distribution, dubbing, publishing, merchandising and other permissible formats,” said Orient Tradelink management.

“While the commercial outcome will depend on audience response, market conditions and execution, we believe Children of God has the potential to become a meaningful addition to our content portfolio,” it said.
