ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has commissioned 66.68 MW of solar capacity and 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity in Bikaner, Rajasthan, taking its operational renewable energy portfolio to approximately 3,057 MW and operational BESS capacity to 4.16 GWh.
The capacities have been commissioned through subsidiaries as part of two separate projects at the same site.
First phase of hybrid project commissioned
Through its subsidiary ACME Renewtech Pvt Ltd ACME Solar has commissioned the first phase of a solar project at Kelan village in Bikaner.
The commissioned phase comprises 66.68 MW of solar capacity, forming part of a planned 300 MW solar project.
The project is ACME Solar’s first hybrid renewable energy project and combines 300 MW of solar capacity with 100 MW of wind capacity.
The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the project has been signed with NTPC Ltd, while long-term project financing has been arranged with Power Finance Corporation (PFC).
ACME Solar expects to commission the entire 300 MW solar capacity by the end of Q3 FY27.
BESS capacity crosses 4 GWh
Separately, ACME Solar, through its subsidiary ACME Greentech Seventh Pvt Ltd, has commissioned the first phase of the BESS component of its Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project at the same location.
The commissioned phase comprises 53.63 MW / 300 MWh of BESS capacity, out of the project’s total planned capacity of 300 MW / 1,581 MWh.
The project is ACME Solar’s first assured off-peak power supply project. Its PPA has been signed with SJVN Ltd, while REC is providing long-term project finance.
ACME Solar expects to commission the entire BESS capacity by Q3 of the current fiscal year.
With the latest commissioning, the company’s operational BESS portfolio has crossed the 4 GWh milestone, reaching 4.16 GWh.
Contracted portfolio at 8,370 MW
ACME Solar Holdings has a contracted renewable energy portfolio of 8,370 MW, spanning solar, wind, storage, FDRE and hybrid projects.
Following the latest commissioning, its operational portfolio stands at approximately 3,057 MW, alongside 4.16 GWh of operational BESS capacity.
The company has an in-house engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operations and maintenance (O&M) division, enabling it to undertake end-to-end project development and plant operations.
The combination of solar, wind, storage and FDRE projects also expands ACME Solar’s portfolio beyond conventional renewable generation towards projects capable of providing more flexible and dispatchable power.
