Exide Industries has entered into a long-term strategic cooperation agreement with Germany-based ExCom Energy Solutions GmbH to expand its industrial battery and energy storage business across the European Economic Area (EEA).
The agreement, signed on September 15, 2026, establishes a commercial and technical collaboration between the two companies. Products covered by the partnership will be marketed and sold under the ExCom brand.
Under the arrangement, ExCom will serve as the central commercial and technical interface for customers across the EEA. Its responsibilities will include customer development, distribution, technical project support and after-sales coordination.
Focus on industrial mobility and energy storage
The cooperation will initially focus on traction and motive-power battery solutions for material-handling equipment, logistics operations and other industrial mobility applications.
The companies will also offer stationary battery systems for industrial, infrastructure and energy storage applications.
The partnership is intended to combine Exide India’s manufacturing capabilities, technology portfolio and experience in industrial batteries with ExCom’s European market presence, application engineering expertise and local customer-support infrastructure.
The combined offering will cover battery systems, charging technologies, system integration, application engineering and lifecycle services.
The companies said products and solutions will be tailored to the technical, regulatory and operational requirements of customers across the EEA.
Exide eyes European industrial battery growth
For Exide Industries, the cooperation provides a platform to expand its industrial battery business in the European market by combining its manufacturing and technology capabilities with local commercial and technical support.

Exide India and ExCom also expect to explore advanced chemistry solutions in the future as part of the cooperation.
Platform for advanced battery technologies
ExCom said the partnership will create a platform to serve European customers with application-specific energy solutions while developing a broader presence in the industrial energy storage market.

The companies intend to build a European platform for traction batteries while exploring next-generation industrial energy storage opportunities.
Beyond advanced lead-acid battery technologies, the partners see potential to expand into selected advanced chemistry applications over time.
The cooperation will also cover the broader battery lifecycle, including product selection, system design, installation, operation, maintenance and service.
