Fortis Healthcare Ltd has signed a definitive agreement with Seth Sunder Lal Jain Charitable Eye Hospital to provide healthcare services at a planned 400-bed super specialty hospital in Ashok Vihar, New Delhi.
The hospital is expected to commence operations in three to four years, subject to necessary approvals. The agreements have been executed by Fortis Healthcare’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Fortis Hospotel Ltd (FHTL).
Fortis gets long-term healthcare rights
Under the Healthcare Services Agreement, FHTL will have long-term exclusive rights to provide specified inpatient healthcare services and specialised equipment at the hospital.
The equipment will include a Cath Lab, LINAC, PET-CT and Surgical Robot, among others. FHTL will receive an agreed service fee from the Seth Sunder Lal Jain Society.
Agreement carries 29-year term
The Healthcare Services Agreement has a committed term of 29 years, with an option to extend it for a further period on mutually agreed terms.
The hospital will be owned, operated and managed by the SLJ Society. Fortis will provide healthcare services to the Society under the agreement.
SLJ Society to develop facility
The land, building, civil infrastructure and certain medical infrastructure will be owned and developed by the SLJ Society.
FHTL will also provide a loan to the Society for construction, upgradation and operation of the hospital. The loan will be provided in phases over the next three to four years based on construction progress.
Hospital to offer advanced care
The hospital will be developed as a state-of-the-art facility on about 3.1 acres in North-West Delhi.
With a planned capacity of more than 400 beds, the hospital will be operationalised in phases. It will be located in one of Delhi’s key populous districts.
Focus on tertiary, quaternary care
The hospital will provide tertiary and quaternary healthcare services across specialties including oncology, neurosciences, cardiac sciences, gastroenterology, orthopaedics and renal sciences.
It will also offer multi-specialty robotic surgeries and transplant services. The facility will provide free inpatient and outpatient treatment to eligible patients under the Economically Weaker Sections category, in line with applicable regulatory and social obligations.
Fortis expands Delhi-NCR presence
