Ultraviolette has inducted its X-47 Crossover electric motorcycles into the Kolkata Police fleet, marking the electric two-wheeler maker’s entry into police mobility and one of the larger electric motorcycle fleet deployments by an Indian police force.
A total of 183 X-47 ‘Skyforce’ motorcycles have been supplied to Kolkata Police. The official handover ceremony was held at the Lalbazar Police Headquarters.
The company said Ultraviolette is the first electric two-wheeler manufacturer by scale to have its motorcycles inducted into the Kolkata Police fleet. The X-47 ‘Skyforce’ has been introduced as a dedicated Patrol Variant developed specifically for police operations.
X-47 configured for police operations
The X-47 ‘Skyforce’ has been configured to meet the operational requirements of Kolkata Police, with an augmented electronics architecture designed to support integrated police-duty equipment.
The motorcycles are equipped to accommodate sirens, hooters, a Public Address (PA) system, police decals, LED blinkers, microphone holders, walkie-talkie holders and side panniers.
Ultraviolette said the motorcycles underwent extensive testing before being handed over to the police force.

Performance-oriented electric motorcycle
The X-47 ‘Skyforce’ is designed to combine motorcycle agility with the equipment-carrying capability required for police operations.
Built around Ultraviolette’s performance-focused engineering, the X-47 offers high-speed capability, long-range usability and manoeuvrability. Its crossover architecture is designed to help officers navigate varied urban conditions while carrying operational equipment.
The motorcycle’s ergonomics, power delivery and ride characteristics are also intended to support extended periods of operation.
Electric mobility enters everyday policing
The deployment puts the X-47 ‘Skyforce’ into an operational policing role rather than a ceremonial deployment. The Patrol Variant is intended for day-to-day duties requiring quick response, manoeuvrability and operational flexibility in urban environments.
The induction also reflects the increasing adoption of electric mobility by public institutions and law-enforcement agencies as they modernise their vehicle fleets.
For police departments, electric motorcycles can potentially reduce running and maintenance costs while supporting broader objectives around sustainable urban mobility.
