Rosmerta Auto Recycling Pvt Ltd (RARPL), a registered vehicle scrapping facility, has partnered with Eicher Trucks and Buses, a business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), to facilitate authorised scrapping and recycling of End-of-Life (ELV) commercial vehicles across the National Capital Region (NCR).
Structured scrapping for Eicher customers
The partnership will enable Eicher Trucks and Buses dealers and customers to access a structured and compliant vehicle scrapping process. The initiative is aimed at helping commercial vehicle owners retire ageing trucks and buses through authorised channels while supporting fleet renewal and resource recovery.
The collaboration comes as India’s formal vehicle scrappage ecosystem expands, with commercial vehicles playing a key role in the country’s logistics and passenger transportation networks.
Rosmerta Group President Kartick V Nagpal said the partnership with Eicher Trucks and Buses is aimed at translating the government’s policy initiatives into greater adoption among commercial vehicle owners in NCR.
He said the partnership would bring an authorised and transparent scrapping process closer to dealers and customers while ensuring vehicles are scientifically dismantled and valuable materials recovered for the circular economy.
Focus on vehicle lifecycle management
The partnership builds on the Government of India’s efforts to formalise vehicle scrapping through registered vehicle scrapping facilities, Certificates of Deposit and incentives encouraging owners to retire ageing vehicles through authorised channels.
VE Commercial Vehicles Chief Commercial Officer S S Gill said responsible retirement of old vehicles is particularly relevant for Eicher customers as they balance vehicle productivity, operating efficiency, safety and lifecycle costs.
The scientific dismantling of ELVs allows materials such as steel and aluminium to be recovered and reintroduced into productive supply chains, reducing material wastage and supporting circularity in the automotive sector.
As India’s vehicle scrappage infrastructure develops, collaboration among vehicle manufacturers, dealers, owners and authorised recyclers is expected to play a role in increasing the adoption of formal end-of-life vehicle management.
The Eicher-Rosmerta partnership seeks to make commercial vehicle scrapping more accessible and transparent while supporting responsible recycling and resource recovery in the NCR.
