Borosil Renewables Ltd has raised the estimated cost of its 600 TPD production capacity expansion at Bharuch, Gujarat, to ₹1,100 crore from the earlier ₹950 crore, while pushing the commissioning timeline to the end of March 2027 from December 2026.
The expansion involves setting up two furnaces of 300 TPD each. The project was originally scheduled for completion by December 2026.
Middle East conflict disrupts project execution
The company said the delay has been caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which has disrupted supply chains, led to exchange rate fluctuations and increased commodity costs.
The scope of the project has also been expanded, resulting in an additional cost outlay of ₹150 crore.
Project cost revised to ₹1,100 crore
The Borosil Renewables board has approved a revised project cost estimate of up to ₹1,100 crore and the updated commissioning timeline of end-March 2027.
The original investment planned for the 600 TPD expansion was ₹950 crore. The revised estimated investment is approximately ₹1,100 crore.
Expansion to raise capacity to 1,600 TPD
The additional investment will be funded entirely through internal funds, with no increase in borrowings, the company said.
Once operational, the expansion will increase Borosil Renewables’ production capacity from 1,000 TPD to 1,600 TPD, significantly boosting production volumes and sales revenues.
