Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) has commenced bookings for its upcoming Hyundai BAYON, a 4.2-metre mid-size SUV featuring an in-built generative AI voice assistant and a range of connected and safety technologies.
The company is positioning the BAYON as an Intelligent Utility Vehicle for customers seeking technology-led mobility, advanced safety, comfort and contemporary SUV styling.
AI-led connected mobility
The Hyundai BAYON’s in-built generative AI voice assistant is designed to enable more natural interactions between the driver and vehicle. Hyundai said the technology forms a key part of its focus on delivering a more intuitive and connected driving experience.
The SUV has been developed around five pillars — Intelligence On, Safety On, Comfort On, Performance On and Style On.
Hyundai Motor India Ltd Managing Director and CEO Tarun Garg said the BAYON combines advanced technology, futuristic design and safety to address the requirements of new-age Indian customers.
“Hyundai BAYON embodies our vision of intelligent mobility by seamlessly integrating advanced technology, futuristic design and comprehensive safety into a compelling SUV package,” Garg said.
Designed for urban and highway use
The BAYON features a sculpted bonnet, futuristic front fascia and signature H-Edge LED daytime running lights. Its SUV stance is further accentuated by geometric wheel arches, wrap-around door cladding and bridge-type roof rails.
At 4.2 metres in length, Hyundai said the SUV has been designed to balance exterior dimensions with interior space, offering legroom, headroom and shoulder room for occupants.
Safety-focused platform
Safety is one of the key pillars of the BAYON. The SUV is built on Hyundai’s Global K Enhanced Platform, which the company says has been engineered for 5-star Indian safety standards.
The vehicle incorporates structural and safety engineering aimed at occupant protection, along with a range of safety features.
Petrol powertrain with MT and IVT
The Hyundai BAYON will be offered with a petrol powertrain, with customers able to choose between a manual transmission and Hyundai’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).
The company said the powertrain has been engineered to provide a refined and responsive driving experience across city and highway conditions.
Bookings open for ₹11,000
Customers can book the Hyundai BAYON through Hyundai India’s official website or at authorised Hyundai dealerships by paying a booking amount of ₹11,000.
Hyundai has said the BAYON is scheduled to arrive during the festive season, with the delivery timeline to be communicated at the time of launch.
