IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has signed an agreement with United Hospitality Management (UHM) India to develop Garner Hotel Jim Corbett in Uttarakhand, expanding its newest midscale brand into another high-potential leisure market.

The 50-key hotel is scheduled to open in Q2 2027. It will be owned by Victorian Corporation and managed by UHM India.

Garner expands beyond major metros
The hotel will be located in Ramnagar, the gateway to Jim Corbett National Park, one of India’s established wildlife and leisure destinations.

Spread across approximately three acres, Garner Hotel Jim Corbett is expected to cater to travellers visiting the region, supported by road connectivity with key cities across North India.

The signing is part of IHG’s strategy of expanding its branded hotel portfolio beyond major metros, particularly in markets where domestic travel and demand for branded midscale accommodation are growing.

Garner crosses 100 hotels globally
Garner, IHG’s newest midscale conversion brand, has reached 100 open hotels globally since its launch in 2023, making it the fastest-scaling brand in IHG’s history, according to the company.

The brand is positioned around accessible, quality accommodation, with an emphasis on convenient locations, comfortable stays and breakfast. Properties also benefit from IHG’s operating systems, quality standards and loyalty ecosystem.

Garner’s conversion-oriented model is designed to provide operational flexibility for hotel owners while expanding IHG’s presence in markets with demand for branded midscale accommodation.

50 rooms planned
Garner Hotel Jim Corbett will feature 50 rooms along with facilities and amenities aimed at modern travellers.

The hotel will focus on quality, comfort and convenience while incorporating elements suited to its location in a wildlife and leisure destination.

“Garner’s rapid momentum in India reflects the strong fit between the brand’s proposition and the needs of both owners and travellers in the market. Globally, Garner has become the fastest-scaling brand in IHG’s history and in India we are seeing that momentum translate into growing owner confidence and a strong development pipeline,” IHG Hotels & Resorts Managing Director, South West Asia Sudeep Jain said.

UHM expands hospitality platform
The project also marks an addition to UHM India’s expansion plans across India, including leisure destinations and emerging markets.

“At United Hospitality Management, we are focused on building a strong and differentiated hospitality platform in India through strategic partnerships, disciplined growth and a deep understanding of the markets we operate in. Our collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts reflects this approach, bringing together UHM’s local operating expertise and market insight with IHG’s global brands, systems and distribution strength,” United Hospitality Management-India Managing Director Deepika Arora said.

She added that Garner Hotel Jim Corbett would be an important addition to UHM’s growth journey and reflect its confidence in destinations beyond traditional metros.

Victorian Corporation Director Parveen Saraswat said Jim Corbett’s year-round wildlife and leisure appeal is driving demand for reliable, quality accommodation.

“As traveller expectations evolve, we saw a clear opportunity to bring a trusted international brand to the market. Garner’s distinctive proposition of delivering quality stays at an accessible price point, combined with IHG’s global brand strength and distribution platform, made it the right choice for this project,” Victorian Corporation Director Parveen Saraswat said.
