Ultraviolette Shockwave To Launch In Q1 2027 With New 100V Architecture

CW Bureau ·

Ultraviolette has confirmed that its upcoming Shockwave electric motorcycle will be built on the company’s new 100V architecture and launched in the first quarter of 2027, marking a technology upgrade for its lightweight motorcycle platform.

100V architecture for stronger performance
The Bengaluru-based electric vehicle maker said the new architecture has the potential to deliver stronger power delivery, higher thermal efficiency and faster charging.

The Shockwave, positioned as a FUNDURO motorcycle, has been conceived as a lightweight model focused on riding performance. Ultraviolette said its design draws inspiration from the character of classic two-stroke motorcycles, with the company targeting a more engaging riding experience.

The 100V architecture follows its earlier announcement that the Tesseract would also adopt the technology. While the two models are being developed for different riding experiences, the common architecture reflects Ultraviolette’s continued investment in its electric vehicle technology.

Production line being set up
Ultraviolette has started setting up a dedicated production line for the Shockwave at its existing manufacturing facility as it prepares for the launch.

The company has also confirmed that the motorcycle will be offered in both single-seat and dual-seat configurations. Final technical specifications, pricing and other launch details will be announced closer to its market introduction.

Ultraviolette Co-founder & CEO Narayan Subramaniam said the company had envisioned the Shockwave as a motorcycle focused on the “pure enjoyment of riding” and that bringing the 100V architecture to the model was an important step towards that objective.

He said the Shockwave and Tesseract had been under parallel development over the past year, with work already underway to establish the Shockwave production line.

The launch will expand Ultraviolette’s electric motorcycle portfolio as the company seeks to apply its higher-voltage architecture across different vehicle formats. The Shockwave is scheduled to enter the market in Q1 2027.
