Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, reported 12% year-on-year growth in total dispatches to 7,66,348 units in September 2026, compared with 6,87,220 units in September 2025.
The company’s September volumes increased by 79,128 units year-on-year, as demand strengthened ahead of the festive season.
Domestic ICE dispatches rise 12%
Hero MotoCorp’s domestic internal combustion engine (ICE) business recorded dispatches of 7,10,436 units in September 2026, compared with 6,32,253 units a year earlier. This represents a 12% increase, or 78,183 additional units.
The company said its domestic retail momentum remained strong, with VAHAN registrations growing 31% year-on-year across its overall domestic business.
Within the domestic ICE business, retail VAHAN growth stood at 29%, indicating continued demand momentum ahead of the peak festive period.
ICE scooters drive growth
ICE scooters were a key growth driver during the month, with dispatches increasing 60% year-on-year.
Hero MotoCorp is using the festive period to strengthen engagement with consumers through a new campaign built around five Indian folk art forms. The campaign incorporates sounds generated by the Hero Destini scooter into a contemporary musical expression of India’s cultural and festive traditions.
VIDA electric mobility gains traction
VIDA, Hero MotoCorp’s emerging mobility business, continued its growth trajectory in September, recording 28,798 units in dispatches.
Its VAHAN registrations grew 83% year-on-year, highlighting the rapid expansion of the company’s electric two-wheeler business.
During the month, VIDA’s VX2 entered the Asia Book of Records after becoming the first electric scooter to tow a passenger aircraft over a record distance. The company said the feat showcased the scooter’s torque, durability and engineering capabilities.
VIDA also expanded its association with cricket during the month by serving as the Title Sponsor of India’s cricket tour of New Zealand.
Global business records sequential growth
Hero MotoCorp’s global business recorded dispatches of 27,330 units in September 2026, representing 5% growth over August 2026.
The company also crossed the milestone of one million customers in Latin America during the month, which it said reflected the growing strength of its brand and distribution network in the region.
