Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) reported its highest-ever monthly total sales of 77,916 units in September 2026, registering 10.8% year-on-year growth, driven by strong performance in both the domestic and export markets.
The September sales figure, comprising domestic sales and exports, surpassed Hyundai Motor India’s previous monthly sales record achieved in July 2026.
Domestic sales rise 10.9%
HMIL recorded domestic sales of 57,166 units in September, up 10.9% from the year-ago period.
Exports also maintained strong momentum, with the company shipping 20,750 units during the month, representing a 10.4% YoY increase.
The broad-based growth across domestic and international markets resulted in the company’s highest-ever monthly total sales since its inception.
Festive season expected to support demand
Hyundai Motor India Ltd MD & CEO Tarun Garg said the company was delighted to close September with its highest-ever total monthly sales.
“We are delighted to close September 2026 with our highest-ever total monthly sales of 77,916 units (domestic + exports), registering a healthy double-digit growth of 10.8% YoY. This number surpasses our previous record achieved in July 2026,” Garg said.
According to Garg, the growth across both domestic and export markets reflects the appeal of Hyundai’s product portfolio and its focus on mobility solutions for customers in India and overseas markets.
Hyundai BAYON bookings open
HMIL expects customer demand to remain strong during the festive season, with the company also opening bookings for the Hyundai BAYON, its upcoming all-new nameplate for the Indian market.
Garg said the company expects sustained customer enthusiasm during the festive season, supported by the opening of bookings for the BAYON.
The September performance comes as the Indian automotive industry enters the key festive period, when manufacturers typically see increased customer activity and vehicle purchases.
