Five Workers Killed In Boiler Explosion At TIL Healthcare Facility In Sri City

Five workers were killed following a boiler explosion at the TIL Healthcare facility in Sri City on Saturday morning, October 3, 2026.

The incident occurred at around 8.30 am during a shift change. According to the company, only essential personnel were present at the facility as the previous day was a holiday for Gandhi Jayanti.

Five workers lose their lives
The deceased have been identified as Gourab Roy of West Bengal, Chinna Mastan of Cherivi village, Ramesh of Madarapakam and Mohan of Naidukuppam.

Vasu of Tada, who sustained severe injuries in the incident and was shifted to a Chennai hospital for advanced treatment, later succumbed to his injuries.

Emergency response teams, local authorities and company officials mobilised rescue and relief operations following the incident.

Investigation ordered
District Collector Dr. Venkateswar and Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu, along with senior State Government officials, visited the site and reviewed the situation.

The District Collector said a case had been registered and a detailed investigation would determine whether there were lapses involving the factory, personnel or machinery. Appropriate action would be taken based on the findings.

He also said each bereaved family would receive ₹50 lakh as ex-gratia, while funeral and medical expenses would be covered by the government.

TIL Healthcare promises support
TIL Healthcare Director Ajay Kumar expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and said the company would cooperate with the authorities in the investigation.

“We are deeply saddened by this unfortunate incident and the tragic loss of our colleagues. Our heartfelt condolences are with the bereaved families,” Kumar said.

He said TIL Healthcare had been operating in Sri City for 17 years and had maintained safety protocols and compliance standards during this period.

The company said it would extend necessary assistance to the affected employees and their families and remain committed to safety across its operations.

First such incident in Sri City
Sri City Managing Director Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy described the incident as a deeply painful moment for the Sri City community.

He said this was the first such incident in Sri City’s 18-year history.

According to Sannareddy, comprehensive safety audits had been conducted following the recent Visakhapatnam boiler incident, along with continued safety monitoring.

Sri City teams are working with TIL Healthcare and government authorities to provide support to the affected families and assist with the response to the incident.
