Mercedes-Benz India, the Indian arm of German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz, has posted its highest-ever quarterly sales and best-ever January-September performance in the country, supported by sustained demand across its luxury portfolio and growing interest in electric vehicles.
The company delivered 15,190 vehicles during January-September 2026, up around 8% from 14,132 units sold in the corresponding period last year. This marks the strongest nine-month sales performance recorded by Mercedes-Benz in India.
The company also registered its highest-ever quarterly sales, retailing 5,422 vehicles during July-September 2026, a 6% increase over 5,119 units sold in Q3 2025. Sales during the quarter were also 17% higher than the 4,634 vehicles sold in Q2 2026.
Mercedes-Benz attributed the momentum to sustained festive demand and its Dream Days campaign, which offered new financial products to customers.
Core Luxury segment drives volumes
The Core Luxury segment remained the largest contributor to Mercedes-Benz India’s sales, accounting for around 60% of total volumes during January-September 2026.
The C-Class, Long Wheelbase E-Class, GLC and GLE continued to record strong demand across the first three quarters of the year. The Long Wheelbase E-Class retained its position as the highest-selling luxury car in India, according to the company.
The performance of the C-Class, GLC and GLE also helped strengthen the company’s core portfolio, with Mercedes-Benz positioning the segment as a key driver of its value-led growth strategy.
Top-End Luxury grows 13%
The Top-End Luxury segment recorded 13% year-on-year growth during January-September and accounted for more than 25% of Mercedes-Benz India’s sales.
Demand remained strong for models including the GLS, S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach and AMG G 63, reflecting continued interest in higher-end and personalised luxury vehicles.
The company’s MANUFAKTUR personalisation programme accounted for around 75% of Top-End Luxury vehicle sales during the period. The programme offers customers customised materials, design elements and craftsmanship.
The AMG G 63 also recorded its highest-ever monthly sales despite a long waiting period, according to Mercedes-Benz.
The extra-long-wheelbase V-Class has also gained traction, particularly among customers using the vehicle for long intercity and airport travel.
Entry Luxury segment maintains growth
The Entry Luxury portfolio, comprising the GLA SUV and CLA BEV, recorded 4% growth during January-September 2026 and contributed around 15% of the company’s overall sales mix.
Mercedes-Benz said the performance was supported by the feature-rich positioning of the two models and their appeal among younger luxury car buyers.
BEV sales rise 16%
Mercedes-Benz’s battery electric vehicle portfolio continued to gain momentum, growing 16% during January-September 2026 despite limited vehicle availability.
The new CLA BEV has emerged as a significant contributor, with more than 1,000 confirmed orders. Deliveries have been extended until March 2027, reflecting strong demand for the new electric model.
The company said the response to the CLA BEV has been particularly strong among younger luxury customers, indicating growing interest in technology-led and sustainable mobility.
At the top end of the electric portfolio, the EQS SUV, EQS Maybach SUV and G580 continued to attract customers.
The EQS Maybach SUV recorded 68% year-on-year growth during January-September 2026.
AMG portfolio grows 18%
Mercedes-Benz’s performance-oriented AMG portfolio also recorded strong growth, increasing 18% during the nine-month period.
The company said the performance reinforces demand for high-performance products within the Top-End Luxury category.
Mercedes-Benz is also set to begin deliveries of the new Electrified S-Class from mid-October. Demand for the top-spec MANUFAKTUR Edition has been exceptionally strong, with the variant sold out for the entire year, while limited units of the EXCLUSIVE Line remain available for customer orders.
New GLC BEV to arrive in November
Mercedes-Benz is preparing another electric vehicle launch for the Indian market, with the new GLC BEV scheduled to make its India debut on November 4, ahead of the festive season.
The company said the model will strengthen its BEV portfolio as it seeks to expand its electric vehicle presence across luxury segments.
Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director & CEO Santosh Iyer said the company’s record quarter and January-September sales were driven by its value-led customer strategy.
“Our diverse product portfolio mix, new powertrain and elevated customer experience reflects the strong desirability of Mercedes-Benz among India’s most discerning luxury consumers,” Iyer said.
The latest sales performance gives Mercedes-Benz a strong start to the final quarter of 2026, with the company entering the festive season with continued demand across its core luxury portfolio, high-end models and expanding electric vehicle range.
