Mercedes-Benz Electric GLC Secures 650 EoIs Within 36 Hours In India

CW Bureau ·

Mercedes-Benz India has received more than 650 expressions of interest (EoIs) for its upcoming all-new Electric GLC within 36 hours of opening registrations, signalling strong pre-launch demand for the luxury electric SUV.

The company opened EOIs on October 5 and will continue accepting registrations from potential customers for the locally manufactured Electric GLC.

Strong pre-launch demand
The response comes as luxury car buyers in India increasingly consider electric vehicles while continuing to seek premium design, performance, technology and practicality.

Mercedes-Benz said the early demand for the Electric GLC reinforces the growing interest in its electric vehicle portfolio and its position in India’s luxury electric mobility segment.

Mercedes-Benz India, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Brendon Sissing, said the 650-plus EOIs received within 36 hours, even before the market launch, could pave the way for the Electric GLC to become one of the company’s most successful launches in India.

He said the response underlines the strength of the Mercedes-Benz brand and the desirability of its products, while highlighting the company’s role in the evolution of luxury electric mobility in India.

First locally produced SUV on new platform
The Electric GLC will be locally manufactured at Mercedes-Benz India’s facility in Chakan, Maharashtra. It will be the first locally produced Mercedes-Benz SUV in India based on the company’s next-generation electric vehicle architecture.

The model combines the GLC’s established luxury SUV positioning with electric-drive technology and digital features, as Mercedes-Benz seeks to offer a blend of comfort, performance and everyday usability.

The company said the Electric GLC is designed around the characteristics of a modern luxury electric SUV, with an emphasis on versatility, intuitive technology and sustainable mobility.

EOI registrations remain open
Mercedes-Benz India said customers who have registered their interest will receive regular updates on their order status and indicative delivery timelines as part of its customer experience programme.

EOIs for the Electric GLC remain open through authorised Mercedes-Benz franchise partners and the company’s official India website.

The strong initial response gives Mercedes-Benz an early indication of demand for its next-generation electric SUV as the company expands its locally manufactured electric vehicle portfolio in India.
