The ePlane Company, the electric aircraft venture of Ubifly Technologies Pvt Ltd, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Noida International Airport to develop infrastructure and operational systems for advanced air mobility (AAM) services in the Delhi-NCR region.
The partnership will go beyond physical infrastructure to establish a framework for developing regulatory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Vertiport Management Systems and the wider operational ecosystem required to deploy the ePlane Company’s flagship e200X electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.
Airport-to-airport connectivity
The collaboration is expected to support e200X-powered airport-to-airport connectivity, intra-city commutes and emergency air ambulance services across the region.
The infrastructure initiative comes alongside engineering progress on the e200X, following the recent public unveiling of its full-scale PT-01 prototype. Ground testing of the prototype is currently underway, with the MoU aimed at ensuring that development of the aircraft is matched by parallel progress in ground operations and airspace integration.
Noida International Airport will allocate space within its premises for proof-of-concept trials, vertiports and charging stations. The airport will also work towards aligning its SOPs to accommodate eVTOL operations.
Regulatory and operational framework
The ePlane Company will work on securing the necessary clearances from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), alongside prototyping and flight testing of the e200X.
The two organisations will jointly engage with regulators, Air Traffic Control (ATC) authorities and state governments to establish safety frameworks, Vertiport Management Systems and AI-assisted fleet scheduling systems that can be integrated with smart city infrastructure.
The companies plan to validate the operational model through drone trials before moving to piloted e200X flights.
The ePlane Company, Founder and Director, Dr Satyanarayanan Chakravarthy, said the deployment of electric air taxis would require simultaneous development of aircraft, ground infrastructure, regulatory frameworks and operating procedures.
He said the partnership with Noida International Airport would enable the company to systematically validate its operational models through drone trials before progressing to piloted e200X flights.
Focus on zero-emission transit
Noida International Airport, Chairman, Daniel Bircher, said the airport’s long-term vision is closely linked to innovative and future-ready infrastructure for the region.
He said integrating advanced air mobility into the airport framework would support seamless multi-modal connectivity, while the collaboration with The ePlane Company would help develop the ground infrastructure and operational SOPs needed for zero-emission air transit and emergency services across Delhi-NCR.
The partnership marks an early step towards integrating electric air taxis with conventional airport infrastructure, with the development of vertiports, charging facilities, regulatory procedures and airspace coordination expected to be critical to the commercial deployment of eVTOL services.
