Lumino Industries Ltd, a manufacturer of conductors and cables for India’s power transmission and distribution sector, has secured orders worth ₹496 crore across its product portfolio from customers in the power sector and other industries.
The orders cover conventional and high-performance conductors, high-tension (HT) and low-tension (LT) cables, and railway signalling cables.
EPC orders account for 32% of total
The company has also secured a ₹157-crore engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order in India for upgrades to underground distribution networks.
The domestic EPC order represents about 32% of the total order value. The new contracts take Lumino Industries’ order book to ₹3,215 crore, covering its manufacturing and EPC businesses.
Focus on high-performance products
“The orders won across our manufacturing and EPC segments take our order book to ₹3,215 crore. Our focus remains on high-performance products, especially HTLS conductors, which meet the growing demand for higher power transfer capacity across power T&D, railways and other industries,” Managing Director Devendra Goel said.
He said network expansion and modernisation were expected to drive demand for HTLS and other high-performance conductors and cables. The company would continue to focus on product quality, timely delivery and opportunities that build on its manufacturing and EPC strengths.
Capacity expansion at Howrah
Lumino Industries operates two manufacturing facilities in Howrah, West Bengal, with a combined annual aluminium consumption capacity of 40,000 tonnes.
Its upcoming facility at Ranihati, Howrah, is expected to raise capacity to 75,000 tonnes in phases and broaden the company’s product portfolio.
Presence across India and overseas
The company has operations across 26 States and four Union Territories and exports to 17 countries. Its latest orders add to its business pipeline as investment in power networks, railway infrastructure and distribution systems creates demand for conductors and cables.
