TVS Srichakra Plans To Invest ₹49.2 Cr To Expand Tyre Capacity By 6-7%

CW Bureau ·

TVS Srichakra Ltd, the tyre manufacturer, will invest ₹49.20 crore to increase its manufacturing capacity by approximately 6–7% at its facilities in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, and Rudrapur, Uttarakhand, to meet growing demand for two- and three-wheeler tyres.

The company will implement line-balancing and debottlenecking measures, including augmenting curing capacity, with the additional capacity scheduled to come on stream in phases from January 2027, according to a stock exchange disclosure dated October 17, 2026.

The investment will be financed through a mix of debt and equity.

TVS Srichakra currently has an annual manufacturing capacity of approximately 3.4 crore to 3.5 crore tyres, with capacity utilisation ranging between 85% and 90%. The proposed expansion is expected to increase capacity by around 6–7%.

Focus on meeting rising demand
The proposed investment is aimed at improving manufacturing efficiency and addressing growing demand for the company’s two- and three-wheeler tyres.

The line-balancing and debottlenecking initiatives are intended to improve throughput at the existing facilities rather than rely solely on the addition of new manufacturing infrastructure.

The planned augmentation of curing capacity is also part of the expansion programme.

The additional capacity will be commissioned in phases beginning January 2027, enabling the company to progressively bring the expanded manufacturing capability into operation.

The investment was approved by the managing director on October 17, 2026, under delegated authority, the company said in its disclosure to the stock exchanges.

TVS Srichakra, which markets its products under the Eurogrip brand, has manufacturing operations at Vellaripatti in Madurai and Rudrapur in Uttarakhand.
