Natco Pharma Ltd has launched Carboplatin Injection, a generic version of Paraplatin, in the US market through its US subsidiary Natco Pharma USA LLC, targeting a market with estimated annual sales of $27.8 million.
The Hyderabad-based pharmaceutical company has launched the product in manufacturing collaboration with Chennai-based Teyro Labs Pvt Ltd. The launch is expected to help address a critical shortage of Carboplatin Injection in the US market.
According to industry sales data, Carboplatin Injection recorded estimated sales of $27.8 million in the US for the 12 months ended June 2026.
Drug used in ovarian cancer treatment
Carboplatin Injection is indicated for treating advanced ovarian carcinoma, including first-line combination therapy and palliative treatment of recurrent disease in patients who have previously undergone chemotherapy.
The launch expands Natco’s presence in the US oncology market, where the company focuses on generic medicines with limited competition.
The shortage of the drug in the US also creates an opportunity for the company to contribute to supply continuity in a critical segment of cancer treatment.
Focus on limited-competition drugs
Natco Pharma develops, manufactures and distributes generic and branded pharmaceuticals, specialty medicines, active pharmaceutical ingredients and crop protection products.
The research-oriented company has established a presence in oncology, including targeted therapies in the domestic market, while pursuing opportunities in the US for products facing limited competition.
Natco operates nine manufacturing facilities and two research and development centres in India. Its manufacturing facilities have approvals from regulatory authorities, including the US Food and Drug Administration, Brazil’s ANVISA, Health Canada and the World Health Organization.
The company supplies products to 50 global markets.
The launch of Carboplatin Injection adds another product to Natco’s US portfolio, leveraging its manufacturing collaboration with Teyro Labs to address demand for essential oncology medicines.
