CW Bureau ·

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the engineering and construction major, has secured two large orders from government agencies for major infrastructure projects in New Delhi and Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.

L&T classifies the orders as large, placing each in the ₹2,500 crore to ₹5,000 crore category. The projects have been awarded to its Public Spaces, Airports & Health (PAH) business vertical.

The combined developments cover a built-up area of 70.3 lakh sq. ft., highlighting the scale of the company’s latest government infrastructure contracts.

Two Central Secretariat buildings in Delhi
The first order, awarded by the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), involves the construction of Common Central Secretariat buildings 4 and 5 along Kartavya Path in New Delhi.

The project will be executed on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis. The two buildings will have a configuration of basement, ground floor and seven upper floors, with a combined built-up area of 32.8 lakh sq. ft.

L&T’s scope includes structural and architectural works, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, and external development.

The project is scheduled for completion within 24 months, followed by a five-year operation and maintenance period.

Two 48-level office towers in Amaravati
The second order, awarded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, involves the construction of two office towers on either side of the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre in the state’s planned capital.

The towers will each have a configuration of basement, ground floor and 47 upper floors. Together, they will cover a built-up area of 37.5 lakh sq. ft.

Under the design-and-build contract, L&T will undertake shell and core works. The project is scheduled for completion within 30 months.

Government projects strengthen L&T’s order book
The two contracts add to L&T’s portfolio of large public infrastructure projects, reinforcing its presence in the construction of government buildings and specialised urban developments.

The company’s PAH business vertical has delivered public infrastructure projects in India and overseas, focusing on customised developments across public spaces, airports and healthcare facilities.

The latest wins reflect continued government investment in administrative infrastructure in New Delhi and the development of Amaravati, where large-scale office buildings are part of the broader urban development programme.
