Paradeep Parivahan Bags 10-Year JSW Group Contract For 100 e-Trucks

CW Bureau ·

Paradeep Parivahan Ltd (PPL), an integrated logistics and port services company, has secured a 10-year contract with the JSW Group to deploy and operate 100 electric trucks for industrial transportation between Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh and Vijayanagar in Karnataka.

The contract marks a milestone in PPL’s growth strategy, strengthening its focus on scalable, technology-enabled and sustainable logistics operations.

Fleet to expand threefold

The electric trucks will operate along an approximately 330-km one-way corridor, transporting clinker and slag. The estimated cargo volume is 1.25 lakh metric tonnes a month. JSW Greentech Ltd will supply the electric trucks.

With this and other orders, PPL’s transportation fleet is expected to increase approximately threefold compared with the previous year.

The additional vehicles will strengthen its capabilities in dedicated fleet operations, bulk cargo transportation and technology-enabled logistics management.

Green mobility targets emission cuts

The deployment of 100 electric trucks has the potential to displace approximately 47.5 lakh litres of diesel and avoid 14,256 tonnes of direct carbon dioxide emissions annually, according to the company’s estimates.

The actual fuel savings and emissions reductions will depend on vehicle utilisation, operating conditions and the assumptions used in the calculations.

Company strengthens long-term strategy

“This 10-year contract marks an important milestone in Paradeep Parivahan Limited’s growth journey and reflects our vision of building a scalable, future-ready and sustainable logistics enterprise. We see green mobility not merely as an emerging business opportunity, but as a strategic pillar of our long-term growth,” Paradeep Parivahan Managing Director and CEO, Khalid Khan, said.

He said the company would focus on expanding its fleet, strengthening operational capabilities and deploying technology-led solutions to meet the evolving requirements of India’s industrial sector.

PPL aims to scale its transportation business while prioritising sustainability, execution and long-term customer partnerships. The company sees efficiency, technology and environmental responsibility as key drivers of the future of industrial logistics.
