Start-up Venttup Raises $3 Mn In Pre-Series A Round Led By Rainmatter

CW Bureau ·

Venttup, an India-based Industry 5.0 startup focused on engineering-led precision manufacturing, has raised $3 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Unicorn India Ventures.

The funds will be used to expand its engineering team, invest in a precision manufacturing facility and rapid prototyping infrastructure, and adopt artificial intelligence (AI) to improve business-to-business sourcing, supplier intelligence and operational efficiency.

Bengaluru facility to boost manufacturing

Venttup is setting up a manufacturing facility in Bengaluru to strengthen its precision manufacturing and rapid prototyping capabilities. The facility will support precision machining, turning and sheet metal production for applications across energy transition, defence, aerospace and space.

The infrastructure is intended to accelerate the transition from component development and validation to production readiness and large-scale manufacturing.

Funding supports scale-up plans

The funding will support Venttup’s transition from engineering development to scalable production across critical industrial sectors.

“At Venttup, we are building an engineering-first manufacturing company that brings together design standardisation, rapid prototyping, testing and scalable production through India’s capable MSME ecosystem,” Venttup, Co-founder and CEO, Sandeep Nair, said.

Leadership comment

“This funding round will help us strengthen our team, expand precision manufacturing capabilities and adopt technology to serve both emerging deep-tech companies and established OEMs. Our ambition is to build resilient supply chains for critical sectors while advancing our mission of ‘India for India, India for the World’,” he said.

Investors see demand for precision manufacturing

“Venttup is uniquely positioned to fulfil this demand by acting as a dependable operational bridge. Their approach of combining an in-house precision facility in Bengaluru with a vast, quality-checked network of local MSMEs provides immense value to the ecosystem,” Rainmatter by Zerodha, Lead – Climate and Deeptech, Abhinav Singh Negi, said.

“Precision manufacturing as a segment is going to experience explosive growth as the deep-tech ecosystem matures. Whether the use case is defence or space, such companies would need a strong partner that can source precision equipment, speed up prototyping and provide a reliable supply chain, and Venttup has already built for this and more,” Unicorn India Ventures, Managing Partner, Bhaskar Majumdar, said.

Four strategic business verticals

Venttup operates across four strategic business verticals: energy transition and data centres; aerospace, defence and space systems; smart infrastructure and future mobility; and electronics, automation and smart manufacturing.

The company aims to serve as a long-term development and manufacturing partner for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), technology companies and emerging deep-tech businesses.

Revenue grows fivefold

After raising an undisclosed seed round in 2024, Venttup has grown fivefold to ₹10 crore in revenue in FY26. Over the past 12 months, it has added more than 15 blue-chip companies to its customer base and built a business opportunity pipeline of about ₹30 crore across new energy, mobility and smart infrastructure.
