Norton Unveils 450 Urban At EICMA As TVS-Backed Resurgence Expands

British motorcycle manufacturer Norton Motorcycles has unveiled its new Norton 450 Urban at EICMA 2026 in Milan, marking its entry into a new motorcycle segment as it expands its product portfolio under a £200 million-plus resurgence programme backed by TVS Motor Company.

The new 450 Urban will be available in two versions, targeting urban commuters and riders seeking a premium, lightweight motorcycle. The launch comes a year after Norton announced its Resurgence strategy at EICMA 2025.

Powered by a liquid-cooled 454 cc single-cylinder engine, the motorcycle produces 47 PS at 8,000 rpm and 45 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox, with a quickshifter available as part of its technology package.

Two variants target different riding needs
The new motorcycle is built on an aluminium frame and has a target kerb weight of below 180 kg. Its chassis features a fully adjustable 43 mm KYB upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock adjustable for rebound and preload.

Braking is handled by a 320 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc, supported by cornering ABS.

The technology package includes traction control, cruise control, three riding modes, keyless ignition, smartphone connectivity and an 8-inch TFT touchscreen. Other features include heated grips, USB-C charging and tyre pressure monitoring.

While the standard version gets silver cast wheels and a silver frame, the more rugged variant features black wheels, a grey frame, extended mudguards, handguards and fork protectors.

Norton expands global footprint
The 450 Urban joins the Manx R, Manx, Atlas and Atlas GT in Norton’s latest product line-up. The Atlas and Atlas GT are powered by a 585 cc parallel-twin engine and target adventure touring and road-focused riding segments.

Norton’s resurgence programme, announced in 2025, is backed by investments exceeding £200 million. The company said its Manx R and Atlas have entered production, with customer deliveries under way in Europe.

Over the past year, Norton has established operations in 10 markets through more than 50 retailers. Sales in India and the US are expected to commence in the coming months.

The company is targeting annual global volumes of around 20,000 motorcycles, with plans to expand its retail and service network to more than 200 locations.

Acquired by TVS Motor Company in 2020, Norton is headquartered in Birmingham, the UK, with its manufacturing facility in Solihull.

The latest launch signals Norton’s effort to move beyond its traditional premium performance positioning and build a broader global motorcycle business.
