Tamilnadu Petroproducts Q2 Net Profit Nearly Doubles To ₹62.54 Cr

CW Bureau ·

Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd (TPL), a Chennai-based petrochemical manufacturer, has reported a standalone profit after tax (PAT) of ₹62.54 crore for the second quarter of FY27, up 95% from ₹32.07 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

Revenue more than doubled to ₹941.63 crore in Q2FY27 from ₹468.26 crore a year earlier, registering a growth of 101%. The sharp increase in revenue and profitability reflects improved operating performance amid a challenging macroeconomic environment.

The company’s quarterly performance indicates a significant improvement in its financial performance, with revenue growth outpacing the increase in net profit.

First-half revenue increases 84%
For the first half of FY27, TPL recorded an approximately 84% increase in revenue compared with the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) and profit before tax (PBT) more than doubled year-on-year.

The company attributed the improvement to stable demand, operational efficiencies and effective cost management, which helped increase operating profitability during the six months ended September 2026.

Focus on operational efficiency and sustainable manufacturing
TPL Vice Chairman and AM International, Singapore, Founder Chairman Ashwin Muthiah said the company had delivered more than two-fold growth in both revenue and profitability during the quarter.

He attributed the performance to continuous operational improvements, cost discipline and a sharper focus on customer requirements, which helped the company navigate a challenging macroeconomic environment.

Muthiah said sustainable products and carbon-neutral manufacturing would remain central to TPL’s long-term growth strategy as it seeks to build a more competitive and future-ready business.

Petrochemical portfolio
TPL is among India’s leading manufacturers of industrial intermediate chemicals, with its product portfolio comprising Linear Alkyl Benzene (LAB), caustic soda and propylene oxide. The company also markets chlorine, a co-product of its caustic soda manufacturing operations.

The strong first-half performance comes as the company continues to focus on operational efficiency, cost optimisation and sustainable manufacturing to strengthen its position in the petrochemical industry.
