Coforge Shifts From Headcount To AI-Led Growth, Gains HFS Recognition

CW Bureau ·

Coforge Ltd, a global AI-native engineering services leader, has been recognised by HFS Research as a Non-Linear Leader in the HFS Non-Linearity Index for CY Q4 2025 and Q1 2026.

HFS Research analysed more than 25 major service providers for the report, which examines the industry’s shift away from traditional headcount-led growth towards models that increasingly decouple value creation from workforce expansion.

The recognition places Coforge among six service providers identified by HFS as having demonstrated sustained non-linear growth over the past four quarters.

Shift towards Services-as-Software
The findings are part of HFS Research’s second report in its two-part series, titled ‘The headcount era is fading as the pivot to Services-as-Software continues’. The first edition of the report was published in early 2026.

HFS said the industry’s long-standing reliance on linear growth is coming under increasing pressure, with some service providers beginning to create greater value without proportionately expanding their workforce.

Over the last four quarters, Coforge has been positioned twice in the Non-Linear Leaders quadrant of the HFS Non-Linearity Index, reflecting performance above the industry average on year-on-year constant-currency revenue per full-time employee (FTE) and operating margin per FTE.

AI and reusable platforms drive leverage
HFS Research President Saurabh Gupta said the move from challenger to leader reflects Coforge’s ability to deliver sustained non-linear growth as the services industry redefines how value is created.

He said six consecutive quarters on the HFS Non-Linearity Index demonstrate that Coforge is increasingly decoupling growth from traditional linear models through AI, reusable platforms and disciplined execution.

Gupta added that Coforge Nuuron provides the operational foundation for the transformation, while Momentuum blue is helping develop AI-native talent and delivery models. The company’s increasing focus on outcome-based pricing, he said, positions it at the forefront of the industry’s shift towards Services-as-Software.

Coforge scales AI capabilities
Coforge  CEO and Executive Director Sudhir Singh, said non-linear growth is about creating greater value without relying solely on adding capacity.

He said Coforge’s sustained non-linear growth reflects the company’s efforts to embed AI across delivery and operations and drive outcome-based delivery through its AI Mod Squads.

Coforge’s AI capabilities are supported by more than 11,000 data and AI practitioners, along with Coforge Nuuron, its AI Operation System, eight AI platforms, 22 AI assets and nearly 130 reusable AI agents and accelerators.

These capabilities enable the company to increase AI and automation across delivery, helping clients modernise technology environments, improve operational performance and build new business capabilities.

Building an AI-native operating model
Momentuum blue, Coforge’s specialised FDE operating unit, further supports this strategy by placing engineers directly within client environments to build and deploy AI solutions.

The HFS recognition underscores Coforge’s broader shift towards an AI-native, outcome-led operating model, where specialised expertise, reusable intellectual property, AI-enabled delivery and technology-led productivity are increasingly being used to support scalable growth.
