Mysuru is increasingly moving beyond its traditional image as a tourism and education hub to emerge as a potential technology and Global Capability Centre (GCC) destination, backed by a growing talent pool, an established IT ecosystem and Karnataka Government’s push to expand technology growth beyond Bengaluru.
Gopalan Enterprises is seeking to tap into this opportunity with the development of Gopalan E-Park, a planned multi-tenanted technology park in Mysuru’s Koorgalli. Spread across 28 acres, the project is planned with more than 4 million sq.ft. of built-up area across five office blocks.
The development is aimed at providing the infrastructure needed by technology companies, IT/ITES businesses and GCCs looking to establish or expand operations outside Bengaluru.
Mysuru’s technology ecosystem gains scale
Mysuru already has an established corporate technology presence, with companies such as Infosys, Wipro, LTIMindtree, ArisGlobal and BioClinica operating in the city.
The city’s broader IT/ITES ecosystem spans technology, banking, telecom software, life sciences and healthcare services, providing a base of skilled professionals for companies looking to build technology and innovation-led teams.
This existing ecosystem is becoming increasingly relevant as companies seek locations that can provide access to talent while offering alternatives to the higher operating costs and infrastructure pressures associated with Bengaluru.
Government push strengthens opportunity
The Karnataka Government’s Beyond Bengaluru agenda is also creating a policy backdrop for the expansion of technology and business activity into other cities.
The 2026–27 Karnataka Budget has identified Mysuru as the state’s second IT city, strengthening the city’s positioning in the state’s technology expansion strategy.
For Mysuru, the opportunity is therefore shifting from simply attracting technology companies to building the infrastructure and ecosystem required to support larger technology operations, including GCCs.
Gopalan E-Park targets technology companies
Gopalan E-Park is being developed as a dedicated technology campus designed to accommodate multiple companies. Its 28-acre footprint and planned 4 million-plus sq.ft. development are intended to create a sizeable commercial base for IT and IT-enabled services businesses.
The multi-tenanted model could allow companies to establish operations in Mysuru without having to develop standalone campuses, while providing access to common infrastructure and an expanding technology ecosystem.
For Gopalan Enterprises, the project represents an opportunity to participate in Mysuru’s transition into a larger technology and corporate-services centre.
GCC opportunity moves beyond Bengaluru
The growth of GCCs across India is creating demand for additional technology hubs beyond established locations such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Pune.
Mysuru’s combination of an existing technology base, skilled talent and improving infrastructure could position the city to capture part of this next phase of expansion.
The emergence of projects such as Gopalan E-Park also indicates that the next stage of Karnataka’s technology growth may increasingly depend on building large-scale commercial infrastructure in cities beyond the state capital.
With government policy, corporate presence and new technology infrastructure converging, Mysuru is moving from being a prospective technology destination to a city seeking a larger role in Karnataka’s technology economy.
