CW Bureau ·

Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand Vida has expanded its electric scooter portfolio with the launch of the Vida Evooter VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh, a new long-range variant aimed at addressing growing consumer demand for extended range and faster charging.

Priced at ₹1,43,990 (ex-showroom), the latest addition takes the Vida VX2 lineup to four variants as the company steps up efforts to accelerate electric two-wheeler adoption under its ‘Ghar Ghar Evooter’ initiative.

Longer range and faster charging
The Vida Evooter VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh is equipped with dual removable 2.2 kWh battery packs, offering a combined battery capacity of 4.4 kWh and an IDC-certified riding range of 187 km.

The scooter comes with a 1 kW portable charger, enabling charging from 0% to 80% in 3 hours and 30 minutes. It also supports DC fast charging, reducing the same charging cycle to 65 minutes.

Powered by a 6 kW peak motor delivering 26 Nm of torque, the scooter offers a top speed of 90 kmph. Riders can choose between Eco, Ride and Sport modes, along with a Boost function designed to improve overtaking performance.

Feature-rich offering
The new electric scooter is equipped with a 4.3-inch TFT display, smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

Other features include 27.2 litres of under-seat storage and a Combined Braking System (CBS) tuned for Indian road conditions.

Vida said the scooter will be supported by its network of over 6,000 fast charging stations and more than 700 service touchpoints across the country.

Company sees rising demand for long-range EVs
Hero MotoCorp Chief Business Officer, Emerging Mobility Business Unit, Kausalya Nandakumar, said the new variant has been developed in response to growing consumer demand for longer journeys and faster charging.

She added that the company is expanding the VX2 range to cater to different customer needs while strengthening confidence in electric mobility through improved range, charging convenience and engineering reliability.

Record-setting cross-country ride
To demonstrate the scooter’s endurance, Vida completed a 12,111-km cross-country expedition that earned recognition from the Asia Book of Records for the ‘Longest Journey by an Electric Scooter.’

The 52-day ride, undertaken in partnership with rider Girish Shet, started in Bengaluru and concluded in Delhi after travelling through all Kolkata Knight Riders match host cities, validating the scooter’s long-distance capability and charging convenience.

Availability
The Vida Evooter VX2 Plus 4.4 kWh will be available at authorised dealerships across India by the end of July 2026. The company will also offer Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plans to provide customers with more flexible ownership options.
