IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company Ltd. has launched the IndiaFirst Life GOLD Term Plan, a non-linked, non-participating pure risk or savings plan designed to provide comprehensive protection through life insurance, healthcare, spouse cover and flexible benefit options.
The launch comes amid a significant insurance protection gap in India, with a large section of the population still lacking adequate financial protection against life’s uncertainties.
At the same time, customer expectations from term insurance are evolving, with policyholders increasingly seeking solutions that go beyond basic life cover and offer greater flexibility, holistic support and value throughout their financial journey.
Focus on comprehensive protection
The IndiaFirst Life GOLD Term Plan has been designed to help individuals secure their families while offering a range of protection and wellness-oriented features.
The plan combines financial protection, family-focused benefits and health and wellness services under a single proposition.
IndiaFirst Life Insurance , Chief Distribution Officer, Agency & Alliances, Sumeet Sahni, said awareness about the importance of financial protection has increased significantly in recent years, but term insurance penetration in India remains low.
He said the GOLD Term Plan seeks to address evolving customer expectations by combining comprehensive protection with features such as Health Management Services, the Smart Exit option and family-centric benefits such as the Soulmate Benefit.
“By integrating health and wellness services into a term plan, we are enabling customers to lead healthier lives while making insurance more proactive than reactive,” Sahni said.
Targets two-fold term insurance growth
IndiaFirst Life expects the GOLD Term Plan to double its term insurance business over the next 12 months, supported by its differentiated proposition and competitive pricing.
The company said the product has been designed to address the needs of customers across metro, Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.
It expects strong demand from markets including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and the NCR region, where increasing financial awareness and insurance adoption are driving protection needs.
Young earners and women in focus
The insurer expects the plan to attract young income earners, recently married couples, individuals with growing financial responsibilities, women customers and families across metro, Tier 1 and Tier 2 markets.
IndiaFirst Life also expects increasing participation from women customers, driven by rising financial independence and a growing preference for value-driven protection solutions.
Building a customer-centric portfolio
The GOLD Term Plan strengthens IndiaFirst Life’s portfolio of customer-centric insurance solutions by bringing financial protection, flexibility, family-oriented benefits and wellness services together.
With changing consumer expectations and the continuing need to bridge India’s protection gap, the company is positioning the new offering as a more holistic term insurance proposition for customers at different stages of their financial journey.
