Adani Airport Holdings, IHG Sign Five-Hotel Pact; Kimpton To Debut In India

CW Bureau ·

Adani Airport Holdings Ltd and IHG Hotels & Resorts have signed a managed hotel portfolio agreement to develop five hotels across airport-linked and high-growth urban destinations in India.

The agreement will add nearly 1,500 keys across multiple hospitality brands and locations as part of IHG’s expansion strategy in India. The companies said the development is aligned with rising travel demand and the rapid growth of India’s aviation, tourism and airport-led urban infrastructure sectors.

Kimpton brand set to enter Indian market
The portfolio includes the debut of the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brand in India with a property planned in Jaipur. The partnership will also bring Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels to upcoming mixed-use airport city developments in Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram.

The companies said the hospitality projects will be integrated within Adani Airport city developments aimed at creating travel-linked urban ecosystems.

Airport-led developments emerge as hospitality hubs
IHG said Kimpton’s entry into India reflects the increasing demand for premium lifestyle hospitality experiences in the country. Globally, the brand is known for its design-led hotels, boutique luxury positioning and chef-driven dining concepts.

The announcement comes amid strong growth in India’s aviation and tourism sectors, with airport-led developments increasingly evolving into major hospitality and commercial hubs driven by rising passenger traffic, business travel and domestic tourism.

Adani Group eyes integrated travel ecosystems
Adani Enterprises Director Pranav Adani said the partnership is part of the group’s broader strategy to create integrated travel and urban destinations.

“ As the Adani Group expands its presence across hospitality and airport-led urban infrastructure, our vision is to create world-class destinations that seamlessly integrate travel, stay and urban experiences around India’s rapidly growing aviation ecosystem. Our collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts and the development of five hotels across key gateway destinations marks an important step in strengthening high-quality hospitality infrastructure aligned with India’s long-term travel and economic growth,” he said.

IHG strengthens India expansion strategy
IHG Hotels & Resorts Managing Director, South West Asia, Sudeep Jain said the agreement highlights the strong opportunity in India’s hospitality sector, particularly across airport-led developments and gateway cities.

“The partnership with Adani Airport Holdings reflects the scale of opportunity we continue to see in India’s hospitality sector, particularly across gateway cities and airport-led developments witnessing strong demand from business, leisure and transit travellers alike. This agreement also marks an important milestone for us with the introduction of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants to India,” he said.
