Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility, has launched the Reo VYB, a new entry-level electric scooter aimed at addressing everyday urban mobility needs. The scooter has been introduced at an introductory price of ₹69,499 and targets young urban riders and first-time EV buyers.
The launch expands Ampere’s family scooter portfolio and comes at a time when electric mobility adoption is gaining momentum across India’s Tier II and Tier III cities.
Focus on safety and accessibility
The Reo VYB is equipped with a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery, a technology known for its thermal stability and safety characteristics. The scooter offers a top speed of 25 kmph and a claimed battery life of up to 1,00,000 km.
Ampere said the scooter delivers a true riding range of up to 80 km on a single charge, making it suitable for daily urban commutes and short-distance travel.
Designed for everyday practicality
The Reo VYB features a refreshed design and is available in four colour options – Warm White, Pastel Purple, Dark Grey and Aqua Metallic.
The scooter comes with 24 litres of under-seat storage, enabling riders to carry everyday essentials with ease. Additional features include a colour LCD digital instrument cluster, premium key fob with keyless start, front disc brake, and LED headlamps and tail lamps.
Built for urban commuting
Powering the Reo VYB is a hub-mounted electric motor designed to deliver smooth and efficient performance. The scooter features telescopic front suspension and a rear damper setup to enhance ride comfort and handling on city roads.
Its compact dimensions and stable ride configuration are aimed at improving manoeuvrability in congested urban environments. The scooter also comes with a rider footrest as a comfort-oriented accessory.
Company eyes growth in emerging EV markets
Greaves Electric Mobility believes the demand for affordable electric scooters will continue to rise as EV infrastructure expands across smaller cities and towns.
Greaves Electric Mobility Managing Director Vikas Singh said, “India’s urban mobility landscape is evolving, with customers looking for sustainable, durable, and reliable mobility solutions. With India’s Tier II and III cities getting connected to the national EV grid and factors such as the lower upfront cost of low-speed scooters and increasing last-mile delivery, the adoption is expected to rise in coming times.”
He added, “The Reo VYB aims to stand as a practical choice to address this need. With this launch, we strengthen our promise to build products that address real-world mobility needs.”
Ownership support
Ampere Care will support Reo VYB customers through more than 400 service touchpoints across India and a 12×7 customer care network.
The scooter is backed by a warranty of three years or 30,000 km, reinforcing the company’s focus on durability and customer satisfaction.
With over 17 years of experience in electric mobility, Ampere said it remains focused on developing products that combine battery safety, functional design and affordability to accelerate the adoption of clean transportation in India.
