CW Bureau ·

Manipal Health Enterprises Ltd (Manipal Hospitals) has fully redeemed non-convertible debentures (NCDs) with a nominal value of ₹5,310 crore issued by its wholly owned subsidiary, Manipal Hospitals Private Ltd.

The redemption was undertaken using the relevant portion of the IPO proceeds, in accordance with the objects of the Initial Public Offering disclosed in the prospectus dated July 31, 2026.

Debt repayment follows IPO

The redemption includes the outstanding NCD principal, along with accrued interest and applicable prepayment or early redemption costs.

The company said the debt repayment marks a key step in its post-listing financial strategy and is expected to strengthen its balance sheet and improve financial leverage.

Focus on reducing interest burden

“The full redemption of ₹5,310 crore of NCDs is an important milestone in our post-listing journey. By deploying the IPO proceeds towards debt repayment as planned, we are strengthening our balance sheet, reducing our interest burden and creating greater financial headroom to support our growth plans,” Manipal Health Enterprises, CFO Sameer Agarwal, said.

“This gives us greater flexibility to continue investing in capacity, technology and talent while remaining focused on delivering quality and affordable healthcare,” he said.

Financial flexibility for expansion

The debt reduction is expected to support the company’s focus on profitable growth and operational efficiency.

Manipal Hospitals said the move will also provide greater financial flexibility for its ongoing expansion and investment priorities.
