Hinduja Tech Ltd, the mobility-focused global engineering and R&D technology company and a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland, has announced a leadership transition with the appointment of Faiz Ahmad as Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2026.

The company’s Board approved Ahmad’s appointment following the retirement of current CEO Kumar Prabhas, who will step down from the role on October 31, 2026, after nine years of leadership and service to the company.

Ahmad brings experience across engineering, mobility and technology-led business transformation. He has been part of the broader Hinduja Group ecosystem for nearly two decades and has extensive experience of the company’s business, customers and organisational culture.

Most recently, Ahmad served as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Vehicle Engineering & Development at Hinduja Tech, where he was involved in strengthening the company’s capabilities, developing talent and driving operational excellence.

Prabhas oversaw global expansion
During his nine-year tenure, Prabhas played a key role in transforming Hinduja Tech into a global engineering and digital solutions organisation.

Under his leadership, the company expanded its international footprint, strengthened customer partnerships and broadened its service offerings. The company also completed strategic acquisitions, including DSD and Tecosim, expanding its capabilities and strengthening its position as a multi-industry engineering and technology partner across global markets.

Dheeraj G. Hinduja, Chairman, Hinduja Tech, thanked Prabhas for his contribution to the company’s growth.

“I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Kumar Prabhas for his dedicated leadership and valuable contribution to Hinduja Tech over the past nine years. His vision, commitment, and leadership have been instrumental in shaping the company’s growth journey and building a strong foundation for the future,” Hinduja said.

The company said Prabhas and Ahmad will work closely throughout October to ensure a smooth transition.

Ahmad to lead next phase of growth
Welcoming Ahmad to the CEO role, Hinduja said his long association with the group, industry knowledge and leadership capabilities position him to lead Hinduja Tech through its next phase.

“Faiz has been an integral part of our journey and embodies the values, customer focus, and innovative spirit that define Hinduja Tech. His deep industry knowledge, strategic perspective, and proven leadership capabilities make him exceptionally well-positioned to lead the organization into its next phase of growth,” Hinduja said.

He added that the company expects Ahmad to strengthen its market position, deepen customer relationships and accelerate innovation across its global operations.

Ahmad said he was honoured to take on the responsibility at a significant stage in the company’s growth journey.

“I am honoured to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading Hinduja Tech at this exciting stage of its growth journey. We have a strong foundation, talented teams, trusted customer relationships, and significant opportunities ahead,” Ahmad said.

He said he would focus on building on the company’s existing strengths, driving innovation and delivering sustainable value for stakeholders.

Focus on engineering and digital capabilities
With the leadership transition, Hinduja Tech said it remains focused on advancing its engineering and digital capabilities, investing in innovation and talent, and developing solutions for customers navigating the future of mobility and technology.

The transition marks a change at the top of the engineering and R&D technology company, while the company intends to build on the global capabilities and customer relationships developed during Prabhas’ tenure.
