EMotorad Appoints Former CARS24 CEO Himanshu Ratnoo As Co-Founder

CW Bureau ·

India’s leading electric cycle brand EMotorad has appointed Himanshu Ratnoo as Co-Founder, strengthening its leadership team as the company accelerates expansion across global markets, mass mobility and new product categories. Ratnoo was most recently the India CEO at CARS24.

Leadership push for next growth phase
The appointment signals EMotorad’s intent to build institutional-grade leadership at the top as it scales operations globally and sharpens focus on the rapidly growing electric mobility segment.

Founded in 2020, EMotorad has emerged as one of India’s most recognised electric cycle brands with over 800 dealerships, presence across 18 countries and a product portfolio spanning kids, commuters, micromobility, health and leisure categories. The company has raised $25 million in cumulative funding till date.

Focus on global expansion
EMotorad Founder Rajib Gangopadhyay said the company’s journey from a startup to a global player has been driven by strong conviction and execution.

“Building EMotorad from zero has been incredibly rewarding. We started with a dream and a garage, and now we are shipping cycles to 18 countries. Himanshu brings a rare combination of scale and deep consumer instinct that this phase demands. Having him in the founding team is a big deal for us,” he said.

Building a global electric mobility brand
EMotorad Co-Founder & CEO Kunal Gupta said the company is entering an exciting new phase of growth with ambitions to create a globally recognised mobility brand from India.

“When Rajib and I started EMotorad, we were two guys with a big bet and a lot of conviction. Six years later, that bet is paying off. We continue to dominate the India market and see immense potential overseas,” he said.

“What comes next is the part that gets me excited. Himanshu and I are going to build something that India has not seen in this space before,  a truly global electric mobility brand, built here, loved everywhere,” Gupta added.

Strong momentum in international markets
EMotorad Co-Founder Himanshu Ratnoo said the company is witnessing strong traction internationally, especially in Europe.

“What EMotorad has built is genuinely exciting. Europe has already scaled 5X in a matter of months. The export pipeline is already attracting large strategic partners,” he said.

Ratnoo added that electric cycles are increasingly becoming central to urban mobility conversations globally as cities rethink transportation models.

“Mass mobility is a global shift, not limited to India as a market. Every major city in the world is rethinking how people move and electric cycles are right at the centre of that conversation,” he noted.

“We have a brand with real momentum, real distribution, and a product that works across markets. My job is to make sure we show up at the scale this opportunity deserves,” Ratnoo added.
