Piccadily Distilleries, maker of Indri, an Indian single malt whisky, has unveiled the Indri Diwali Collector’s Edition 2026 in India, a limited Ruby Port Cask expression crafted by Master Blender Surrinder Kumar.

The fourth release in Indri’s annual festive series was first launched internationally in London and subsequently showcased at The Whisky Show. The 2026 edition brings together the festive character of Diwali with the depth and vinous character of a Ruby Port Cask-matured single malt.

Ruby Port Cask expression

The limited-edition whisky is bottled at 50% ABV, with only 600 individually numbered bottles allocated for the Indian market. It is made from six-row barley and distilled in traditional copper pot stills.

The whisky is matured in northern India’s subtropical climate in hand-selected Ruby Port wine casks sourced from Portugal. The company said the maturation process gives the expression its distinctive depth and character.

Master blender highlights heritage

“The Diwali Collector’s Edition has played a defining role in Indri’s journey and in the story of Indian single malts globally. With the 2026 Ruby Port Cask, we wanted to push that story further, bringing together the richness of Indian single malt, the elegance of exceptional Ruby Port casks and the artistry of India’s cultural heritage,” Piccadily Distilleries, Master Blender, Surrinder Kumar, said.

“Limited to just 600 individually numbered bottles, this is a release created not only to celebrate Diwali, but to celebrate how far Indian whisky has come,” he said.

Global awards boost recognition

The expression has secured Double Gold with 96 points at the USA Spirits Ratings 2026, where it was also named Indian Single Malt Whisky of the Year and Spirit of the Year – India.

It also received Gold at the World Whisky Masters 2026, New York World Spirits Competition 2026 and Asia World Spirits Competition 2026 in Singapore.

The Diwali Collector’s Edition series has collectively secured 29 international awards, adding to the growing global recognition of Indian single malt whisky.
