Maruti Suzuki India Ltd (MSIL) reported a 7% year-on-year increase in total sales for February 2026 at 2,13,995 units, compared with 1,99,400 units in the corresponding month last year, driven largely by a sharp surge in exports.
Total domestic sales, comprising passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles and supplies to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), saw a marginal increase of 461 units to 1,74,840 units during the month. Within this, OEM sales stood at 10,710 units, declining by 168 units year-on-year.
Exports emerged as the key growth driver, rising 56% to 39,155 units in February, significantly higher than the year-ago period.
For the nine-month period of the current financial year, the company’s total sales climbed to 21,97,462 units, up from 20,41,282 units in the same period last year.
Domestic sales during the nine months increased to 17,96,728 units from 17,41,665 units a year ago. Exports surged to 4,00,734 units compared with 2,99,617 units in the corresponding period last year, reflecting strong overseas demand.
Sales to OEMs during the nine-month period rose to 1,04,452 units from 99,540 units in the year-ago period.
The latest numbers underline Maruti Suzuki’s steady domestic performance and a strong export momentum, helping the country’s largest carmaker maintain growth amid evolving market dynamics.
