The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has awarded a prime 2.52-acre land parcel in the National Capital Region (NCR) to Juniper Hotels Ltd for developing a 500-key five-star luxury hotel.
Juniper Hotels emerged as the successful bidder for the license rights to the strategically located site in Dwarka, close to Yashobhoomi – India International Convention and Expo Centre and the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The project marks a significant expansion of Juniper’s footprint in the NCR and reinforces its long-term strategy of asset ownership and development of large-format hospitality projects in key metropolitan markets. With the addition of the Dwarka property, the company’s total room inventory in the NCR region will exceed 1,000 keys.
Juniper currently operates the Andaz Delhi, a luxury property within the Aerocity cluster, comprising 401 rooms and 129 serviced apartments under Hyatt Delhi Residences. With limited scope for expansion at Aerocity, the Dwarka development represents the next phase of growth in the NCR market.
Beyond Delhi-NCR, Juniper owns the Grand Hyatt Mumbai Hotel and Residences, featuring 547 rooms and 120 serviced apartments. The company also acquired a 235-room hotel near the international airport in Bengaluru last year. That property is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of FY27, with an additional 270 rooms planned to open in FY29.
Chairman and Managing Director Arun Saraf said the Dwarka project aligns with the company’s strategic roadmap to pursue growth opportunities in key metropolitan markets across India and strengthens its position in the NCR hospitality segment.
Juniper Hotels said it will continue to evaluate large-scale development opportunities across major Indian metros.
