Tata Power has partnered with Salesforce to transform its rapidly expanding clean energy businesses, including rooftop solar, EV charging and smart home energy solutions. The collaboration aims to build an intelligent, AI-powered digital ecosystem that supports scalable growth while advancing India’s broader clean energy and net-zero ambitions.
The partnership will focus on digitally transforming operations within Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), the renewable energy arm of Tata Power. By deploying Salesforce’s advanced AI-driven platform, Tata Power plans to strengthen operational efficiency, enhance partner and customer engagement, and create seamless omnichannel experiences across the renewable energy value chain.
As part of the initiative, Tata Power has rolled out Salesforce’s Agentforce Sales, Agentforce Service and Agentforce Marketing solutions. These tools enable intelligent workflows that improve visibility across business operations, accelerate decision-making and streamline interactions with customers and channel partners.
The digital platform will act as the strategic backbone for Tata Power’s high-growth renewable energy segments, enabling end-to-end digitisation of customer and partner journeys. Key capabilities include automated lead management, improved inventory visibility, real-time performance tracking and process automation—helping the company deliver a more transparent and efficient customer experience.
In addition, Tata Power has built a proprietary deep learning and agentic intelligence layer on top of the Salesforce platform. This technology enables a zero-touch quality and safety validation system that supports instant on-site verification and automated warranty generation for its rooftop solar installations under the Solaroof programme.
The collaboration comes at a time when India’s residential rooftop solar market is witnessing rapid growth, supported by government initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. Riding on this policy momentum, Tata Power’s residential rooftop solar segment has recorded over 200% growth during the past two financial years.
Overall, the company’s solar portfolio has seen a fivefold increase in revenues between FY2020 and FY2025, reflecting strong market adoption, digital-driven execution and growing consumer trust in clean energy solutions.
Tata Power MD & CEO Praveer Sinha said the company is accelerating India’s green energy transition by expanding rooftop solar installations nationwide, building EV charging infrastructure and developing intelligent energy management solutions. He emphasised that digital capabilities are essential to scaling these initiatives while maintaining speed, transparency and customer trust.
From Salesforce’s perspective, the partnership highlights the role of technology in enabling sustainable transformation. Salesforce South Asia president and CEO Arundhati Bhattacharya noted that forward-looking organisations are embedding data, AI and automation at the core of their operations to build resilient and customer-centric businesses.
Looking ahead, Tata Power and Salesforce plan to co-develop advanced AI-led workflows designed to transform customer and partner engagement. These innovations are expected to improve contact centre operations through faster query resolution, predictive support and proactive service delivery.
