Heritage Foods Commissions Ice Cream Plant At Telangana

Heritage Foods Ltd has inaugurated a ₹204 crore new greenfield ice cream manufacturing facility at Shamirpet, Telangana, as part of its strategy to strengthen its value-added dairy portfolio and cater to the rapidly growing demand for premium ice cream products.

The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with modern automated production systems and advanced quality control infrastructure to ensure consistent product quality and operational efficiency.

The plant has an installed production capacity of about 24 million litres per annum, with provisions to scale up capacity in line with future demand growth. The new facility will produce a wide range of ice creams, including kulfi, bars, and tubs.

Heritage Foods’ ice cream business currently generates annual revenues of about ₹100 crore. The commissioning of the Shamirpet facility significantly enhances the company’s ability to scale operations up to five times the current level over the next seven to eight years in the ice cream category.

The new facility is expected to strengthen the company’s growth trajectory through expansion of its value-added dairy portfolio, enhanced manufacturing capacity, advanced production infrastructure, wider distribution reach, and favourable demand trends in the premium ice cream segment.

Heritage Foods Ltd Vice-Chairperson & Managing Director N. Bhuvaneswari said, “The commissioning of our Shamirpet ice cream manufacturing facility marks an important milestone in Heritage Foods’ growth journey. As consumer demand for high-quality ice creams continues to expand, this facility will enable us to scale our operations, introduce innovative products, and strengthen our presence in key markets while maintaining the quality and trust associated with the Heritage brand.”

Heritage Foods has been in the ice cream business since 2009. The company operates over 850 Heritage parlours and serves millions of customers, with ice cream making up 9-10% of their value-added dairy revenue.
