Indian Railways’ RailOne App Gains Traction, Crosses 2.57 Cr Downloads

CW Bureau ·

Indian Railways is witnessing strong traction for its all-in-one mobile platform, the RailOne App, designed to streamline both reserved and unreserved ticket booking. The RailOne App is rapidly gaining popularity among users. It has recorded 2.57 crore downloads so far and has been seeing 7.64 lakh average daily ticket bookings. This shows a broader shift towards digital adoption in railway services, driven by ease of use and accessibility.

The app integrates key passenger-facing services into a single interface, enabling users to book tickets, check train and PNR status, and access grievance redressal systems seamlessly—all through one login.

RailOne effectively merges the functionalities of the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) and the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS), traditionally accessible through railway counters, into a mobile-first experience.

Passengers can now book reserved tickets, purchase unreserved and platform tickets, access train enquiry and PNR status and use RailMadad for grievance support, through this App.

This integrated approach significantly reduces dependency on physical counters and enhances convenience for millions of daily commuters.

Alongside RailOne, passengers leverage digital platforms offered by Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation for reserved ticket bookings.

Currently, 88% of reserved tickets are booked online, underscoring the success of Indian Railways’ digital initiatives.

The RailOne App incorporates advanced security and privacy features, ensuring safe transactions and data protection. Its intuitive registration and interface design further contribute to its growing adoption.

Available on both Android and iOS platforms, the app is positioned as a comprehensive digital gateway to Indian Railways services.
