Thomas Cook (India) Ltd (TCIL), the leading omnichannel travel company, has entered into a joint venture agreement with Atirath Technologies Pvt Ltd to invest in Indian Horizon Marketing Services Ltd for co-developing a Travel AI platform for the domestic market.
The partnership aims to build a proprietary, AI-driven solution tailored for the travel domain, leveraging emerging capabilities in artificial intelligence and generative AI.
Investment structure and scope
TCIL and Atirath will invest in the ratio of 50:50 in the joint venture company, which has been incorporated with an authorised share capital of ₹9.95 crore.
The collaboration will focus on developing intellectual property in the travel technology space, with a strong emphasis on scalable and customised AI solutions.
Enhancing customer reach and experience
The proposed platform is expected to enable TCIL to expand its customer reach, improve engagement through local language capabilities, and facilitate a seamless digital journey leading to direct online transactions.
It will also help reduce dependence on manual processes, enhance seller productivity, and create a new distribution model aligned with evolving consumer behaviour.
Strategic focus on Gen AI
Earlier, TCIL had indicated that the joint venture would focus on building a robust, scalable and custom-built generative AI solution for the travel domain.
The proposed JV will enable TCIL to extend its reach and serve a wider customer base, while enhancing engagement through local language capabilities. It also aims to create a seamless digital journey by moving customers directly to online transactions.
