Coimbatore-based ELGI Equipments Ltd has announced revised timelines for its planned capacity expansion of air compressors and Global Support Centre (GSC) at Kinathukadavu.
The update comes as part of the company’s ongoing execution of its previously approved expansion programme.
Revised completion schedule
According to the regulatory filing, the expansion of the Global Support Centre, along with air compressor production capacity and parts delivery, is now expected to be completed in Q1 of FY27.
However, the expansion of Diesel-Powered Screw Air Compressor (DPSAC) production has been deferred to Q4 of FY28 due to delays in statutory approvals, though the company indicated there would be no impact on revenues.
Project background
During May 2024, the board had approved the expansion programme spread over four to five years, at an estimated investment of ₹254.70 crore to consolidate its operations at one location in Coimbatore.
Phase I of the project included expansion of DPSAC capacity and the Global Support Centre, with initial timelines targeting completion by the end of FY26.
Strategic significance
The expansion is aimed at strengthening ELGI’s manufacturing capabilities and enhancing its global service infrastructure.
The Global Support Centre is expected to play a key role in improving parts delivery efficiency and customer service across markets.
