Country’s largest two-wheeler company Hero MotoCorp closed FY26 with 10% volume growth, recording dispatches of 65 lakh units, up from 59 lakh units in the previous financial year.
Robust March performance
The company reported a strong performance in March 2026, with dispatches of 5.98 lakh units, compared to 5.49 lakh units in the same period last year.
Retail momentum remained robust, with 5.42 lakh VAHAN registrations, reflecting a 24% year-on-year growth, indicating healthy demand across markets.
Demand trends and segment growth
Demand during the month was led by the 100–125cc segment, which continues to be the backbone of the commuter motorcycle market.
The ICE scooter segment also delivered a strong performance, registering a 24% growth, supported by an enhanced product portfolio and scale-up of the Glamour and Xtreme motorcycle range.
Rural demand sentiment improved further, aided by early festive tailwinds.
Vida EV business gains momentum
Vida, the company’s emerging mobility business, continued its strong growth trajectory, achieving its highest-ever monthly VAHAN registrations of 21,434 units.
This marks a 70% month-on-month growth, while Vida dispatches recorded a 154% growth for FY26.
Product innovation and recognition
As part of its partnership with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), VIDA unveiled the VX2 Plus – KKR Limited Edition, featuring a custom helmet in a distinctive purple and gold theme.
The Vida V2 and Vida VX2 further reinforced their leadership in the EV scooter segment, emerging as top-ranked models in the 2026 India Two-Wheeler Initial Quality Study by J.D. Power.
Global business hits record high
Hero MotoCorp’s global business recorded its highest-ever dispatches, growing 16% in March 2026 to 45,693 units, compared to 39,518 units in the year-ago period.
For FY26, the segment posted an all-time high growth of 40%, driven by strong demand for premium motorcycles and scooters across key international markets.
Brand building and motorsports presence
Hero MotoCorp continued to strengthen its brand presence through global events and recognitions.
In partnership with the DP World Tour and the Indian Golf Union, the company successfully hosted the Hero India Open 2026 (March 26–29, 2026), where Alex Fitzpatrick clinched his maiden DP World Tour title.
Additionally, the Hero MotoSports Team Rally delivered a commendable performance at Rally Raid Portugal 2026, securing a strong top-10 finish.
