CW Bureau ·

Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, has announced the signing of a Gateway Hotel and Convention Centre in Kanamangala, Devanahalli, near Bengaluru airport. The project will be developed as a greenfield property, strengthening IHCL’s footprint in the fast-growing North Bengaluru corridor.

Project highlights and guest offerings

The 300-key Gateway Hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a specialty restaurant, and a lounge. Guests will also have access to a fully equipped gym and swimming pool.

Designed as a convention destination, the property will offer expansive banquet spaces and meeting rooms. The largest banquet hall will span over 16,000 sq. ft., making it well-suited for large-scale conferences, exhibitions, and social events.

Strategic Expansion in a high-growth corridor

IHCL executive vice president, real estate & development Suma Venkatesh said, “Bengaluru is widely recognised as one of India’s fastest-growing cities, driven by a strong business ecosystem and sustained infrastructure development. With the rapid expansion around the airport, North Bengaluru has emerged as a significant growth corridor, and this signing aligns with our strategy to build scale in the micro market addressing the rising demand from corporate and MICE segments.”

Partnership with Hombale Group

Hombale Group operates across construction and film production. The group has delivered over 10 million sq. ft. of construction across various state and central government projects.

Its film production arm, Hombale Films, founded by Vijay Kiragandur in 2014, is among the leading production houses in South India.

Shailaja Vijay Kiragandur, Hombale Group, said, “We are happy to partner with IHCL to bring the Gateway brand to North Bengaluru aligning with the region’s growth trajectory.”

Bengaluru: a strategic hospitality market

Bengaluru, often referred to as India’s Silicon Valley, continues to be a dynamic economic hub with strengths across IT, biotechnology, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

With this addition, IHCL’s portfolio in the city will expand to 20 hotels, including 11 currently under development.
