Cyient Semiconductors has acquired a majority stake in Kinetic Technologies by investing ₹785 crore, in a move aimed at strengthening its custom power IC capabilities for edge and high-performance computing markets.
Strategic push into global semiconductor platform
The investment marks a significant step in Cyient Semiconductors’ ambition to build a scaled semiconductor platform anchored in India while catering to global markets.
Hyderabad-based Cyient Semiconductors focuses on custom ASIC/ASSP solutions, with expertise in analog mixed-signal, intelligent power and advanced semiconductor platforms, supported by design centres across India, the US and Belgium.
Kinetic Technologies operates globally with R&D centres in Silicon Valley and Asia, alongside operations and logistics spanning Asia and Europe.
Continuity with expanded capabilities
Kinetic Technologies will continue under its existing leadership, with strategic oversight from Cyient Semiconductors. Its engineering and customer teams will maintain continuity while benefiting from enhanced global reach and increased R&D investments.
