AIC Pinnacle Entrepreneurship Forum and National Automotive Test Tracks (NATRAX) have signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen the startup and innovation ecosystem in India’s automotive and mobility sector, with an initial focus on electric vehicles, automotive mobility and connected mobility.
The MoU was signed at EKA Mobility’s Trucks and SCV Plant in Chakan by AIC Pinnacle CEO Dr Avinash Thakur and NATRAX Director Dr Manish Jaiswal.
The partnership will combine AIC Pinnacle’s startup incubation, mentoring and industry network with NATRAX’s automotive testing and validation infrastructure. The objective is to help startups progress from prototyping to product development, testing, validation and eventual commercialisation.
Startups to get access to testing infrastructure
As an immediate step, AIC Pinnacle and NATRAX are exploring a startup hackathon and access to NATRAX testing facilities for suitable startups from AIC Pinnacle’s existing cohort.
The organisations will also facilitate access to technical expertise and industry networks, enabling startups to test and refine their products and move closer to market readiness.
The collaboration is expected to create a bridge between early-stage innovation and the technical validation required to develop automotive products for commercial deployment.
Focus on electric mobility
Electric mobility will be a key focus of the partnership, with the two organisations also targeting automotive and connected mobility technologies.
AIC Pinnacle CEO Dr Avinash Thakur said the partnership would connect startups with the automotive testing and validation ecosystem.
“The partnership with NATRAX opens an important bridge between startups and the automotive testing and validation ecosystem. Our objective is to help promising innovations move beyond the incubation stage and gain access to the technical, industry and testing support required to develop market-ready solutions,” he said.
NATRAX Director Dr Manish Jaiswal said the collaboration would create opportunities for startups and innovators to access testing, validation and ecosystem capabilities.
“Such partnerships can contribute to accelerating the development and adoption of emerging mobility technologies,” he said.
Industry and institutional network
The partnership will also explore connecting startups with industry participants, strategic partners, educational institutions, government stakeholders and other organisations across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and the wider automotive innovation ecosystem.
Pinnacle Industries and Group Companies Founder and Chairman Dr Sudhir Mehta said electric mobility would remain a key focus area for AIC Pinnacle.
“This MoU strengthens that vision by giving startups direct access to the industry, strategic partners, academic institutions and government agencies they need to scale,” he said.
The collaboration is expected to provide startups with a combination of incubation support, technical expertise, testing infrastructure and industry connections, potentially reducing the gap between technology development and commercial deployment.
AIC Pinnacle supports early-stage innovation
AIC Pinnacle Entrepreneurship Forum is a not-for-profit startup incubator supported by the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog.
It works with startups through incubation, mentoring, industry connections and capacity building. Its focus areas include electric vehicles, cleantech, sustainability, healthtech, manufacturing and engineering.
The organisation’s partnership with NATRAX expands the technical and validation support available to startups working on automotive and mobility technologies.
NATRAX provides automotive testing infrastructure
NATRAX is an automotive testing and certification facility located near Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh.
The facility provides testing and validation infrastructure for automotive technologies and products, giving startups and industry participants access to facilities required to evaluate and validate new mobility solutions.
By combining this infrastructure with AIC Pinnacle’s startup ecosystem, the partnership aims to create a pathway for promising automotive innovations from incubation and prototyping through testing, validation and commercialisation.
