SBI Funds Management Ltd (SBI Funds), India’s largest asset management company, on Tuesday made its stock market debut with the listing of its equity shares on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), marking a significant milestone in its nearly four-decade journey.
The listing follows the company’s highly successful Initial Public Offering (IPO), which was subscribed 41.66 times, reflecting strong investor confidence in its business model, corporate governance, investment capabilities and long-term growth prospects.
The IPO attracted robust participation from domestic and global institutional investors, retail investors, shareholders and employees, underlining confidence in both SBI Funds and India’s expanding financial markets.
New phase of growth
The listing ushers SBI Funds into a new phase as a publicly traded company, with a greater focus on governance, transparency and long-term value creation.
SBI Funds Management Ltd Chairman, State Bank of India Chairman Challa Sreenivasulu Setty said the listing represents a defining milestone in the company’s journey and reflects the trust reposed by millions of investors over the years.
He said the company is grateful for the overwhelming response from investors across categories and remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance and accountability as a listed entity.
Setty added that the long-standing partnership between State Bank of India and Amundi positions SBI Funds strongly to expand investor participation, improve access to investment solutions and contribute to India’s growing financial savings ecosystem.
SBI-Amundi partnership strengthened
Amundi Chief Executive Officer Valerie Baudson described the successful listing as a landmark achievement that demonstrates the strength of the long-standing partnership between Amundi and State Bank of India.
She said the collaboration has enabled the two institutions to build India’s leading asset management platform by combining SBI’s extensive distribution network with Amundi’s global investment expertise.
According to Baudson, the IPO marks an important milestone that will support SBI Funds’ next phase of expansion. She reiterated Amundi’s commitment as a long-term shareholder to support the company’s future growth alongside SBI.
